There are three types of thermodynamics system
1). Open System
It is thermodynamics system in which mass and energy both cross the boundary of the system.
example: Turbine, piston cylinder with valves, nozzle, etc.
2). Closed System
It is thermodynamics system in which energy cross the boundary of the system but mass does not cross the boundary of the system.
example: Piston cylinder without valves.
3). Isolated System
It is thermodynamics system in which mass and energy both cross the boundary of the system.
example: universe.
Basic Terms
Energy:
It is the ability to cause changes.
System:
It is fixed mass or region in space where our study is focused.
Surrounding:
Everything expect the system becomes surrounding.
Boundary:
IT is a real or imaginary surface which separate system from surrounding.Boundary can be fixed of movable.
Thermodynamics:
It is a branch of science which deals with energy interaction and its effect on system and surrounding.
